Hank's Seafood Restaurant serves fresh, local seafood in a beautifully restored 100-year-old warehouse in the heart of the historic market district in Charleston, South Carolina. Voted "Best Seafood Resaurant" for over 20 consecutive years by locals, Hank's is more than just a fine dining restaurant, it's a local legend.
Challenge
Create a website experience for Hank's Seafood Restaurant that is as elevated as their cuisine. Due to its popularity, Hank's Seafood Restaurant operates on reservation only and is usually completed booked weeks in advance. I helped Hank's Seafood Restaurant update its website to make it easy for users to access important information quickly. The result is a clean, modern website that provides all relevant information without clicking, is mobile-friendly and emphasizes Hank’s utilization of fresh, local ingredients.
Solution
By modernizing their visual design with an artistic aesthetic, Hank's now has a website that reflects their award-winning Lowcountry fresh seafood while also catering to the needs of visitors who want to quickly view different menus, make online reservations, or place an online food order.
A website audit revealed that Hank's website was not user-friendly across different browsers and didn't serve its increasingly mobile audience. Hank's website is now fully responsive across all devices and browsers with updated menu options on mobile so visitors can easily make reservations, call the restaurant, or order online.
Until the redesign, little was probably known about Hank's Social Hall, an upscale gathering space for private events delivering Hank's seafood. This informative one-page design educates visitors about the features of the space with CTAs for requesting a proposal and viewing catering menus.
